The first ever all-star season of "Celebrity Apprentice" kicked off Sunday night, and the show wasted no time in delivering the first shocking elimination of the season.
After the players finished their premiere fundraising efforts -- which saw the celebs hawking meatballs for a variety of good causes -- rocker Bret Michaels found himself in the hot seat alongside teammate La Toya Jackson and team leader Brande Roderick.
So which one did the boardroom boss send home? Roderick, who raised the biggest bucks? Maybe Jackson, who ... participated? Surely not Michaels, who'd already proved himself a winner in season three and also happened to be the only former winner in the new season?
Well, as Donald Trump recently told TODAY, he never thought Michaels should have returned to the game as a contestant. After all, other past winners, including Piers Morgan, Joan Rivers and Arsenio Hall, will participate only as advisers, evaluating the game from above the fray.
On Sunday night, Trump rectified that situation.
"You've been a winner. You are a winner. Bret, you're fired," Trump said.
After delivering the shocker, the boss added, "I hated having to fire Bret. Who knows? Maybe soon he's going to join me in the boardroom as an adviser, where he should have been in the first place."
The boss is always right -- at least in the boardroom.
"All-Star Celebrity Apprentice" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on NBC.
