Good at the Grace Monday in Breckenridge

Do you like tasty food, good friends and a good cause? Then come grab some breakfast or lunch at Amazing Grace on Monday. The gals at Amazing Grace are putting their profits and tips toward another charity with a day of Good at the Grace! Monday the 9th, proceeds will benefit The Summit Foundation. Ullympics team registration is open

The annual Ullympics will take place Tuesday at 6 p.m. on the Riverwalk Center Lawn. Each team must consist of four members (minimum of one female per team). Team entry is free! Volunteers needed for snow sculpture championship

The 2012 Budweiser International Snow Sculpture Championship is seeking enthusiastic people who love the championship and want to volunteer. Volunteer opportunities are available from Jan. 17 through Feb. 5. Some of the volunteer opportunities include snow stompers, lounge attendants, technical assistants, meal servers and People's Choice vote collectors. TIPS alcohol class in Breck on Jan. 13

Kenosha Steakhouse, at 301 Main St. in Breckenridge, will be hosting a TIPS on-premise class on Jan. 13 at 8 a.m. The class is open to the public but there is limited space. To reserve space, you must contact instructor Jon Balliet at (303) 210-1351 or at info@tipsclassonline.com.

Summit Youth Lacrosse parents meeting slated for Wednesday

The Breckenridge Recreation Center will offer a competitive lacrosse program for boys and girls ages 10-14; practices will start in March, but teams must be determined by February. The meeting will take place in the multi-purpose room at the Breckenridge Recreation Center from 6-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. This is a mandatory parents meeting for anyone interested in the Summit Youth Lacrosse program. For additional information, contact Linsey at (970) 547-4321.

FIRC Bag Shop open first Saturday of every month

The FIRC Bag Shop will be open the first Saturday of every month from 1-4 p.m. in La Riva Mall in Dillon. Shoppers and new volunteers are welcome. The FIRC bags are made by volunteers out of donated material and 100 percent of sales help FIRC emergency programs. Items include wine bags, shopping bags, aprons, iPad cases and more. Optimist seeks volunteers for youth basketball

The Summit Lake Dillon Optimist Club is looking for volunteers to officiate for the youth basketball teams at Dillon Valley, Silverthorne and Summit Cove. Games begin Jan. 9 and run every Monday and Wednesday at 5 and 6 until Feb. 15. If interested, call Caitlin at (970) 368-1405.

Summit County Libraries accepting food for fines

To help local food banks meet rising demand, the Summit County Libraries will collect food goods in lieu of monetary fines for overdue library materials, from Jan. 3-14.

According to Social Services, items specifically requested are: soups, stews, canned meat, rice, peanut butter, beans, cereal, powdered milk and crackers.

Only foods requested by Social Services will be accepted, at this time. Food cannot be used in payment for lost library materials. Start the New Year off right, with a clean slate and no fines. There are no set required amounts to cover your fines ? just let your conscience be your guide.

Keystone Nordic Center Kids Learn-to-Ski Program

Summit County kids in grades K-5 are invited to learn to cross-country ski in one of our fun after-school camps. $26 per camp includes equipment & three lessons & refreshment. Camps take place Mondays from 4:15-6 p.m.: Jan. 9, 16 and 23; and Feb. 6, 13 and 20. Feb. 27 is an all make-up day. Call for Ullr Parade floats

Parade float entries are now being accepted for the 2012 Ullr Fest parade, the centerpiece of Breckenridge's weeklong celebration of the Norse god of snow, Ullr. The parade is set for Jan. 12 at 4:30 p.m. The entry deadline for registering a float is Monday.

Those interested in entering a float can register now at ullrfest.com or contact the Breckenridge Resort Chamber at (970) 453-5055 or events@gobreck.com. Registration is free.
