Rangers chief executive Charles Green has not ruled out the possibility of his Rangers newco competing in Scottish Division One.
The former Sheffield United board member made an application for the newly-formed club to replace the old outfit in the Scottish Premier League but it was met negatively by the majority of the other top flight clubs, seemingly leaving Scottish Division Three his only option.
If Rangers go into Division One they would have to accept the football debts and fines of the old club, so when asked about his views of this new proposal Green said he is only concerned with where the team play football next season.
"Did you refuse to pay the price of membership of your golf club? My opinion upon right or wrong doesn't matter," Green said.
"We will continue to work to ensure Rangers play football next season and that we can look everyone in the eye."
Green has also commented on the club's new chairman Malcolm Murray's call for unity.
Murray issued a statement hoping to put an end to 'the vicious and gratuitous blood lust' of those trying to have control of Rangers' fate.
And Green has echoed those sentiments, saying fans should stop undermining his rescue plans.
"It's not right that a proportion of Rangers fans continue to attack my consortium and try to undermine our rescue plans," Green said.
"It's not right that every two weeks a Mel Gibson appears, delivers a Braveheart statement, then doesn't deliver anything."
